St Mary’s

St. Mary The Virgin Church, Penzance

Address:
St. Mary’s Church
Chapel Street
Penzance
TR18 4AP

A church has stood on this headland since the 12th Century, but the present building dates from 1835.  Our  tower  acts as a Waymark to the sea faring community.  St Mary’s was re-ordered in 1985 after a huge fire.  Come and see the spectacular East Window that was commissioned at the time.

The pipe organ comes from the University Church in Oxford, also called St. Mary’s Church, and there is also a modern instrument to complement it, which digitally samples other renowned organs.

The church is in constant use by musicians, artists, and schools. We play host to a wide range of musical events throughout the year.

This church is heaven of stillness and prayer for local people and visitors.

You are welcome to join us for worship.

St Mary’s Church is not disabled friendly.
