Night Church PZ

“Hospitality is not so much a task as a way of living our lives and of sharing ourselves.” Christine D Pohl, Making Room.

Nightchurch every Wednesday 6pm to 9pm.

June has been a full and encouraging month at NightChurch. We were delighted to welcome the Mayor, Andy Law, and to host a visiting potter who led a creative workshop for the community. Two members of the team also attended the HeartEdge Conference in Birmingham, where they shared the work of NightChurch as a resource and inspiration for other churches. We were also pleased to welcome the Diocesan Safeguarding Team, who joined us for our monthly volunteer training.

NightChurch workshops continue to combine creativity with reflection. Our pottery session linked with the evening reflection, The Potter and the Clay, exploring how God lovingly shapes and forms us. We also enjoyed making bunting for Mazey Day while learning about Golowan and the origins of its name, “The Feast of St John”, connecting local traditions with the story of our faith.

As we look ahead to July, we are looking forward to gathering for shared meals, creative activities, evening reflections, and welcoming more visitors. These simple acts of eating together, exploring faith and creativity nurture a welcoming and growing worshipping community.

We give thanks to God for all that He is doing through NightChurch.

Could you spare a few hours to make a difference in our community?  NightChurch Pz is looking for volunteers who can commit to 3 hours on a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis.

Inspired by our Christian faith, we are passionate about seeing everyone in our community experience life to the full. We believe that every person deserves access to a safe space, supportive relationships, and opportunities to thrive and reach their full potential.

By bringing together local churches, we aim to journey alongside people facing difficult circumstances, offering hope, encouragement, and practical support for the future.

Might you be able to support in areas including:

  • Welcome and hospitality
  • Listening and conversation
  • Prayer support
  • Creative activities

Whether you have experience in these areas or simply a heart for people, we would love to hear from you.
