St. Peter’s V.E. Day Tea Party

The weather was cool but dry for the 40ish people who enjoyed a community Wartime Street Party outside St. Peter’s Church Newlyn on Monday 5th May. The menu had a wartime theme: spam, fish paste with cress, and chicken paste with cucumber sandwiches; Homity pies and bread pudding; sausage rolls, congress tarts and jam sandwiches; rock buns and condensed milk cake!! All made and donated by members of the congregation. Waste not want not – there was not much left over! Copious cups of tea were drunk too. Well, the saying goes, that the war was won on cups of tea!! Some attended in fancy dress or a red white and blue theme. Glen Miller and Vera Lynn were blasted over the air waves! A good time was had by all. – Lynda, St. Peter’s
A Heartfelt Thank You to the Renal Ward Team
We are delighted to extend our gratitude to the Renal Ward team at West Cornwall Hospital for their generous donation to NightChurch. The support helps us to extend care and compassion to those in need within our community, providing tangible resources and encouraging hope among those we serve.

We are particularly touched by the creative way the team raised funds, by assembling beautiful hampers and raffling them off, selling tickets as the drinks trolley made its rounds through the hospital. The team brought community, joy and generosity together in a truly inspiring way. – The NightChurch Team, St. Mary’s

Epiphany House Quiet Day
Consider The Birds of the Air
Letting the Lord Speak Through Creation with Fr Gilmour Mcdermott- Friday 16th May

Epiphany House quiet days are an opportunity for prayer, reflection, and silence, fostering deeper connection with God. The day runs from 10.00am – 4.00pm and costs £30 (including lunch and light refreshments). Through talks, personal reflection, and time in the natural environment, we will explore how the Lord speaks to us through his creation, asking questions like, ‘How have you enjoyed my creation?’ Using Jesus’ words, ‘Consider the birds of the air,’ we will reflect on God’s care and provision for each of us, seeing how creation itself reveals his goodness. Inspired by the words, ‘I am the bread of life,’ we will also consider how the Lord sustains and nourishes us for the journey of faith. For more information and for a link to booking, please see here:
Alternatively, you can book by emailing bookings@epiphanyhouse.co.uk, or by ringing 01872 857953.
