NightChurch Pz

Mazey Day at St. Mary’s Church

Saturday 28th June

Penny and the hospitality team will be covering the morning until 1:30pm, with the NightChurch team taking over for the afternoon session until 5pm. We are kindly asking all cluster bakers to contribute scones and cakes for the day. If you also have any items suitable for the bric-a-brac stall, we are gratefully collecting them now: just drop them off at St Mary’s.

Finally, if you can spare an hour to help serve refreshments, have a chat with visitors, or lend a hand on the stall, we would love to hear from you! Let’s make it a joyful and welcoming Mazey Day for all! With thanks and blessings – Penny and Victoria, St. Mary’s

A Heartfelt Thank You to the Renal Ward Team

We are delighted to extend our gratitude to the Renal Ward team at West Cornwall Hospital for their generous donation to NightChurch. The support helps us to extend care and compassion to those in need within our community, providing tangible resources and encouraging hope among those we serve.

We are particularly touched by the creative way the team raised funds, by assembling beautiful hampers and raffling them off, selling tickets as the drinks trolley made its rounds through the hospital. The team brought community, joy and generosity together in a truly inspiring way. – The NightChurch Team, St. Mary’s

New Project Coordinator

Following my recent appointment as Project Coordinator, I wanted to introduce myself to the cluster congregations and share some exciting updates about NightChurch. I worship at St Mary’s and I am delighted to be stepping into this role and would like to start by thanking everyone who has supported and contributed to NightChurch so far.

This comes at a meaningful time, as I near the completion of my degree in Theology, Ministry and Mission at St Mellitus College. I am working closely with managers, Vicky and Eliza, to continue building on the wonderful foundation, and I am passionate about creating spaces of welcome, connection, and hope.

For those who are new to NightChurch, it is a community of friendship that welcomes everyone: a place to simply be, reflect, connect, and find peace alongside others. At the heart of NightChurch is the promise of Jesus: life in all its fullness. Together, the team is committed to creating an environment where everyone can flourish.

You might have noticed the plant pots outside St Mary’s starting to bloom: a beautiful sign of growth and new beginnings. These were planted by some of our NightChurch visitors who expressed an interest in gardening. A huge thank you to Christina Beale for donating the bulbs, Roz Peskett for the compost, and to everyone who brought in pots. We hope this is the start of more gardening and transformation.

Last Wednesday was a real celebration as we enjoyed a musical duet, celebrated a birthday, and shared a meal and fellowship around the table. It was a joy to witness so many conversations and new connections forming.

We are excited about the ideas emerging from our visitors and are looking forward to planning the months ahead. Please keep NightChurch in your prayers, share it with friends and contacts. All are welcome as we meet every Wednesday evening from 6.00pm to 8.00pm. With thanks and hope – Victoria, St. Mary’s
