St Mary’s Act on Poverty Group – St John’s Clothes Rack
We are pleased to announce the St John’s Clothes Rack starting on Wednesday 14th October 2pm – 4pm
This is a reworking of the successful Sustainable Sunday events we held previously. We are pleased to be back at St John’s and will be holding this event in the Community room. We are aiming for the clothes rack to be open every 2nd Wednesday of each month.
At the clothes rack you take what you need and donate if you can. We are not expecting money but clothes to sustain the project. We have children’s clothes and shoes from 0 -14 years and adult clothes and shoes. Over the next two weeks if you are having an Autumn clear out, please bring clean and washed clothes to your church and label the bags ‘Clothes Rack’ and I will collect these on Friday 9th October. Alternatively you could gift new children clothes. The Clothes Rack is for all and is prompting us to live more sustainably. Junior Choir
We have been successful in our application to the St Paul’s Trust for an innovative school and church choir project!
Our Family Worker, Jenny, will be leading a junior choir at St Mary’s C of E School on a weekly basis, then combine them with the church choir at St Mary’s Church for a monthly service.
Both St. Mary’s Church and School are very excited about this project which develops intergenerational links and also will expand our repertoire of worship music.
The project will start in October 2026 and has funding for 12 months initially. Watch this space for more details nearer the time! My thanks to Vicky for helping with the application. Hilary, Rainbow Project Lead
Little Lights Group
Little Lights Group will be at St Peter’s church on Wednesdays 9.30am-10.30am, and at St Mary’s Church on Thursdays 1.30pm-2.30pm.
