Trinity Sunday

Today we celebrate the mystery of the Trinity: one God in three persons. God is the Lover (Father, Creator), the Beloved (Son, Saviour), and the Love which flows between them (Holy Spirit, Counsellor). Our readings help us see who God is, and what God does for us.

Bible Readings

  • Acts 11: 19 – end .
  • John 15: 12 – 17: love one another

What would your prayer be for the place where you live ?
What is it that you place before God each day?
What is it that you see around you when you stop, pause and reflect?

We are looking for people’s prayers for our Cluster area. It may just be a prayer of a few lines. We would love to receive these prayers so tha t we can not only pray together but also reflect on what God is putting on our hearts as we look towards the future.

Send to teamleader@penleecluster.org.uk (we will not use your name when we collate them)

Divine Strategy

The Contemplative Action study group will discuss the “thought of the day” daily meditations from New Mexico and their founder, Fr. Richard Rohr. We meet on zoom at 8.30am each Monday morning.
Do ask for the link if you wish to take part : teamleader@penleecluster.org.uk

For Richard Rohr, the Holy Spirit empowers us from within: Power cannot be inherently bad because it is used by Luke and Paul to name the Holy Spirit, who is described as dynamis, the ancient Greek word for power (see Acts 10:38; Luke 24:49 ; Romans 15:13; 1 Corinthians 2:5).

“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. Then you will be my witnesses … to the very ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8).

Penwith Deanery – On the Way.

Rural Dean of Penwith Deanery
As you may know, despite advertising the post over the past year we have to date been unsuccessful in appointing a Rural Dean for Penwith Deanery.
However, after careful and prayerful consideration I am delighted to say that the Rev’d Nick Widdows has agreed to take up this role for a period of six months.

Nick will be commissioned by Archdeacon Paul as Interim Rural Dean during the St. Ives open air ‘Wild Service’ on Sunday 11 June 2023 at St Johns In the Fields at 3.00pm to which all from the Deanery are invited.

Please pray for Nick as he takes up this new position of leadership and be assured of my ongoing prayers for the Deanery.

With my best wishes, in Christ.
Bishop Philip.
