Paul Church Summer Talks
At 7pm people start gathering at the back of the church, paying £5.00 entry and enjoying a few nibbles and chat. Talks begin around 7.30pm and generally last about an hour including time for questions and comments from the audience.
Dr Tim McInerny will talk about his career as a Forensic Psychiatrist and the treatment of violence and mental disorder in serious offenders, illustrating his talk through accounts of high-profile cases he has dealt with during his work.

Tim is a Fellow and Honorary Bencher of Gray’s Inn, a medical member of the Mental Health Tribunal and a psychiatrist member of the Parole Board. Tim was previously Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist at Broadmoor Hospital from 1999 to 2007, then until 2021, Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist at the Bethlem Royal Hospital, London, which is the oldest psychiatric hospital in the world, and the original ‘Bedlam’. He was visiting psychiatrist to the Falkland Islands for 20 years.
Tim is a strong advocate for using art and creative therapies as an integral part of a patient’s recovery.
Tim lives in Mousehole and sings in the Mousehole Male Voice Choir.
